As you’ll know if you’ve been following along on our socials, KickAss is proud to share that Australian off-road racing legend Toby Price will be competing in the 2026 Tatts Finke Desert Race behind the wheel of the KickAss Can-Am in the highly competitive SXS Pro class.
For motorsport fans, it's hard to imagine a more exciting combination. Toby Price is one of Australia's greatest off-road drivers, and Finke is widely regarded as one of the toughest and most iconic off-road races on the planet. We’re incredibly excited to bring the two together under the KickAss banner.
What Is the Finke Desert Race?
Held annually over the King's Birthday long weekend, the Tatts Finke Desert Race is a two-day off-road endurance event that runs from Alice Springs to the remote community of Aputula (Finke) and back again. Covering more than 450 kilometres of harsh desert terrain, the event attracts the country's best riders and drivers across motorcycles, buggies, trophy trucks and side-by-side vehicles. It has earned a reputation as one of the most difficult off-road races in the world.
Fast, rough and relentlessly demanding, Finke tests both vehicles and drivers to their limits. Deep whoops, endless dust, high-speed sections and unforgiving terrain make simply finishing the event a significant achievement.
In 2026, the race celebrates its 50th anniversary, making this year's event even more special for competitors and fans alike.
A True Australian Motorsport Icon
Toby Price needs little introduction to off-road racing fans.
The Queensland-born racer has built a remarkable career across desert racing, enduro and rally competition. He is a two-time Dakar Rally winner, multiple-time Australian Off-Road Champion and one of the most successful desert racers Australia has ever produced.
His connection with Finke runs particularly deep. Price has claimed multiple Finke Desert Race victories on motorcycles and later made history by becoming the first competitor to win the event on both two wheels and four wheels.
Taking On Finke in the KickAss Can-Am
Toby has confirmed he will line up for the 2026 event in the KickAss Can-Am, competing in the SXS Pro class against some of the best off-road racers in the country.
While Finke is never predictable, having a driver of Toby's calibre behind the wheel gives us every reason to be excited.
His experience, racecraft and deep understanding of desert racing make him one of the most formidable competitors in any field. Combined with the capability of the KickAss Can-Am, we're looking forward to seeing what this partnership can achieve on one of the toughest stages in Australian motorsport.
