Q: What is this new connection? Why doesn’t it have a standard male plug for gas cylinders?
A: The KickAss Hot Water System comes with a new-style gas connection compliant with Australian Standards as of 01/04/2022.

Q: When do gas bottles need to change?
A: Any gas bottle manufactured or tested after 01/04/2022 must have the new-style connector.

Q: What if my gas bottle doesn’t have the new connector?
A: You’ll need to swap your old-style gas bottle for a new one at a swap-and-go centre (e.g., Bunnings, BP, Shell). Just ask for the correct connection when swapping.

The KickAss Instant Camping Hot Water System provides an instantaneous hot water capacity of 6 litres, heating water by up to 25°C above the source temperature. It is designed for quick, on-demand hot water suitable for washing and cleaning while camping or off-grid.

This appliance must only be used with a propane gas refillable container certified to AS2469 and the supplied 1200mm propane gas hose and regulator assembly. Using other gas containers or hoses is not recommended and may be hazardous.

The system is designed to be hung upright against a non-combustible vertical surface outdoors, keeping flammable materials at least 1000mm away. Connect the supplied hose to a certified propane bottle, ensure water is flowing, then ignite the burner using the control knobs.

If you smell gas, immediately turn off the cylinder valve, remove the appliance to a well-ventilated area away from ignition sources, and check for leaks using the soapy water method. Do not use a flame to check for leaks.

You can adjust the outlet water temperature by controlling the gas flow and water flow knobs on the front of the unit. Increasing gas flow or decreasing water flow raises the water temperature by up to 25°C above the source water temperature.
