Family of four travelling to Cape York, with the KickAss Hot Water System and 6L Pump-in-a-Box along for the trip.
We were heading towards Coen and running out of daylight when we found a quiet little camp beside a crystal-clear creek. After a long day on the road, my three girls were all hanging out for a hot shower.
Out came the Pump-in-a-Box and about 12 metres of garden hose down to the creek. Within minutes we had a steady supply of 49°C hot water with plenty of pressure, even pumping from 12 metres away. Best of all, we could camp well back from the creek, which also meant keeping a safe distance from any "snapping handbags" that might have been lurking around!
After a full day of Cape York tracks, there's nothing better than a proper hot shower in the middle of nowhere. The KickAss setup has honestly been one of the best bits of gear we've taken on this trip.
