The True 4-stage charging features BULK, ABSORPTION, FLOAT and PULSE modes with advanced algorithms enhancing the overall charging performance of auxiliary batteries. This charger overcomes issues caused by smart charging systems and variable voltage alternators in modern vehicles, delivering a consistent output to your auxiliary battery. It ensures reliable charging in both new and older vehicles, helping to maintain and extend battery life.

KickAss DCDC Features
Three Pin Anderson Style Connector
Easily connect your 12V DCDC Charger with the new three-pin Anderson connection, combining positive alternator, negative ground, and ignition wires. Fully compatible with standard two-pin Anderson connectors.
Lithium BMS Sleep Mode Recovery Feature
In Lithium Mode, if the battery drops below safe voltage and enters sleep mode, the charger will initiate recovery mode. It will trickle charge until the cut-in voltage is reached, then resume normal charging. This function helps revive lithium batteries protected by a built-in Battery Management System (BMS).
The charger will display fault codes for open circuit output if the battery is asleep. To attempt recovery, you must select 'LITHIUM' using the 'MODE' button before connecting the charger.
How to wake a lithium battery:
- Disconnect all loads from the lithium battery.
- Connect alternator or solar input to the DCDC Charger.
- Connect the output from the charger to the battery.
- The charger will flash all battery types; BULK and PULSE LEDs stay lit for 30 seconds before Recovery Mode starts.
- When the source (e.g. Solar) is active and LITHIUM flashes, recovery is in progress.
- Once voltage recovers, the charger resumes normal operation and loads can be reconnected.

I self-installed my new KA DC-DC 25A charger onto my DIY battery box. (see photo).
I also purchased from Kick Ass the fuse tap and the wiring kit, both of which were essential.
In my Toyota Prado 150 series I routed the 3-core cable from cranking battery and fuse box along front of engine compartment then through a large grommet in the firewall into the driver's footwell having popped off the trim panel. Then into the cable channel under the door sill trims front and rear. Nice fit. Culminating in the rear cabin adjacent the battery box.
Cable length was just adequate. 200mm less would have been problematic.
The struggle for me was finding a switched circuit in the main fuse box. Most circuits tested (with test light and multimeter) were permanently live which surprised me. I settled on a rear window wiper motor circuit, patched into that and had to drill a hole through the fuse box wall so as to exit the tail cable! The fuse box is a sealed item so I must seal the new hole with a small grommet or with silicone sealant.
Following that the terminals in the triple Anderson plug at the far end of cable each tested correctly when engine ignition was switched to on and to off. All signal lights on the charger indicated correctly.
A great result.

Great product for a great price, easy to install, very reasonable and quick shipping. just make sure you read the specs if you have large solar as the inputs of this may not support large inputs. but works great for me with 2 200w panels in paralel, and DC-DC charger is also very good.
